America’s Quilt of Faith is an apolitical, civic organization that champions the idea that religion is indispensable to the American project. We are holding our first "religion in society" conference, which this year will be focused on Loudoun County, Virginia. It will take place at Mt. Zion UMC, 12 North Street NE, Leesburg, VA 20176, on Saturday, January 27, from 10am to 1:30pm (lunch included).
Purpose: To better understand and participate in religion’s unique and indispensable work in Loudoun County to build virtuous citizens through their doctrine and religious life
Invitees: Loudoun clergy, business leaders, nonprofit leaders, elected officials, and the general public
Hour 1 – Introduction and Loudoun County’s Religious Landscape
· Brief introduction (5 to 10 minutes)
o America’s Quilt of Faith, a non-profit championing the idea that religion is indispensable to the American project.
o Emphasize purpose of conference.
o Remind participants that AQF and the conference are both apolitical and not affiliated with any religion or religious organization.
· Allen Phelps, President of Dose Moving & Storage, Lead Sponsor (5 minutes)
· Kayla Kemp of ARDA and Dee Allsop of Heart + Mind Strategies with set forth the religious landscape of Loudoun County: its institutions of faith and its attitudes and perspectives on religion in society (50 minutes: 20 min. each followed by Q&A)
Hour 2 – Clergy Discussion
